Like many of you, I consider myself a night owl. Also like many of you, I work during the day - and I sure am grateful for that. In addition, like most (but not all!) of you, I am a human being - I am sometimes also grateful for this. Being a human being means I need to sleep at night, and I can’t often go on hours-long writing and budgeting and whatever else nocturnal sprints.

At 3:46 a.m. on a Saturday morning in July, fueled in no small part by homemade Cafe Bustelo cold brew aka New York Cuban rocket fuel, after reading and blurbing my friend’s excellent book manuscript, doing my financial plan for the remainder of July and August, and revising 21 pages of a spec (non-commissioned) script, I finally looked up the definition of circadian rhythm.
