Aside from the thing I’m about to talk about here, I’m generally happy and enjoying the season. Exercising, tidying up, talking to friends, making plans for little holiday fun things, getting ready for a brief trip. I even like the snow now? What? Chicago, she has gotten to me.

Hello, paid subscribers. Thank you for keeping my lights on (sometimes literally, sometimes metaphorically, sometimes both!) over the weeks, months and years.

Speaking of money, I thought I’d talk a little about that today, as I’m in a situation to which I think more than a few of you can relate. Some of you have even experienced this on a big scale, as the head of a company hired to perform services or provide goods. Some of you (like me, in this case) are independent contractors who’ve had to deal with it from that angle.

IT IS IRRITATING AND I WANT TO KNOW IF YOU’VE BEEN THERE AND IF SO, HOW YOU DEALT WITH IT. WHY AM I SHOUTING. I DO NOT KNOW. I NEED TO GET ON THE TREADMILL AGAIN.
