New Writing & Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Leprechauns, a thing in the New York Times Magazine, goats
Hi, everyone. I do hope there is a sufficient amount of green in the image above, so that I am not personally ejected from the city of Chicago for being insufficiently festive. Look at Polly’s eyes! WE ARE IRISH EVERY DAY.
Behold, a goth-Valentine’s Day-St. Patrick’s Day mashup.
Those fresh flowers in front are actually from a kind congratulatory bouquet from my parents, who were thrilled that a story I’ve been working on with a great team for four months did, in fact, come out this weekend. It doesn’t seem quite real to me, except that it does. I’ve linked to it below in the roundup of stuff to read.
As per St. Patty’s Day…
I am short and impish, which makes leprechaun life relatable to me. However, I am at present not bearded, and my red hair is dyed. We are Irish Catholic (and English Protestant, and Scottish Jewish, THANK YOU) on my dad’s side. But culturally and in all other ways, I am very much a person from New Jersey and not Ireland.
However, everybody is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, I hope you have a fun one.

Love the NYT Magazine story - beautiful work by everyone. And an animated Polly!
Sara, Your article in the Times Magazine which I found so profound and enjoyable and that I could relate to was my way of meeting you. Nice to meet you a fellow New Jerseyan. Please keep up the enlightening and good work. And your article helps remove the stigma because you’re just a fellow human with your own life to live. Blessings, Bob
