I have decided to enter The Future and use the audio component Substack rolled out a year or two ago, just for the heck of it. Trust that it’s not in any way polished or thrilling, unless you find the sound of my voice extremely exciting, or enjoy picturing a DIY closet recording setup.
We do some pretty goofy deep breathing in this little audio letter, so if that sounds enjoyable to you, and you need to relax in the midst of your work day or family thing, I got you. There is no soothing music and I don’t say any hippie shit, although hippie shit is often on my mind.
Now here is a poll, because I’ve enrolled in a course with
about how to do Substack better in a way that’s fun and good and the such, and I’m curious about what you think…Things that are coming up…
The Paper Machete
Chicago’s beloved, long-running live magazine is forever free, held every Saturday from 3 to 5 in a cash-only bar that really, truly used to be a favorite of Al Capone. I will attempt to honor this tradition of Italian-American representation by performing there this very Saturday. See stand-up comedy, live music, live essays and bizarre characters. Get there early to grab seats and give big tips to Amy, the champion waitress and joke-teller extraordinaire.

Your professors (me & Chad the Bird) present a night of mildly educated comedy on a stimulating major (topic) with our favorite adjunct professors (some call them “comedians”)!

Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. at Lincoln Lodge - Tickets here! (Major: JOY)
Here’s a taste of what we do, courtesy of our friends at Chicago’s legendary WGN.
You’re all extremely stunning people and I salute you. Thank you for being here.
Love and other indoor sports,
Sara
